Sustainability is emerging as the business strategy of the 21st century not simply because it's the right thing to do for society or the environment but because it's the right business thing to do.

Companies that realize this will thrive in the face of rising costs of resources (such as energy and water), riskier supply chains, increased regulations and government policies, heightened customer demand for supplier, and increased public concerned over the actions of business with greater means of exposing those actions.

Small- and mid-sized companies (250 employees or less) often do not have the human resources, capital funding or expertise to develop their own approach to sustainable operations and business development strategies. They need easily adaptable, cost-effective tools and processes.

The SEAT (Sustainable Enterprise Assessment Tool™) tool provides businesses with sustainable business strategies for more efficient operations, better go-to-market strategies and improved risk management.

Partnerships for Sustainability (PFS) has adapted these strategies from the Daniel Sitarz book, Greening Your Business: The Hands-On Guide to Creating a Successful and Sustainable Business. PFS has also linked to the internationally deployed Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), which is used by more than half the S&P 100 corporations for their annual sustainability reports.
